Many cases of this rare fungal infection are found in patients with Covid and people with diabetes, kidney or heart problems, or who take high steroids. According to Dr Pankaj Aggarwal, the former must avoid contracting a Covid infection. Therefore, it is important to strengthen immunity. Do not abuse steroids while taking covid. Steroids should only be given when oxygen levels drop and pneumonia occurs. When the condition is stable, reduce the number of steroids, so that there is no problem with fluctuating blood sugar. According to AIIMS Dr Rakesh Malhotra, if even after a week of recovery a person witnesses fever and shortness of breath, then these are warning signs. Steroids may therefore be necessary.
